Pre-operative Instructions


All appointment cancellations must be made 48-hours prior to the scheduled appointment time to avoid additional fees

How to prepare yourself for surgery:

  1. Take the prescribed medication that your surgeon has given to you at your last appointment.
  2. If you have chosen intravenous sedation, DO NOT EAT OR DRINK 4 HOURS PRIOR TO SURGERY.
  3. Please advise the surgeon if your medical condition has changed, or you are taking any new medication since your last visit.
  4. A responsible adult must accompany you to drive you home safely. If you chose to receive intravenous sedation, that person must remain in the waiting room for the duration of the surgery.
  5. Expect a minimum of 3 to 5 days recovery period.
  6. At home, prepare ice packs and soft foods such as yogurt, oatmeal, Jell-O, smoothies, ice cream, omelette or soup. You may also get food supplements at your local pharmacy such as ENSURE or BOOST.
  7. Wear loose-fitting clothes. Do not wear contact lenses.
  8. Remove nail polish and lipstick.
  9. Prepare for the payment of fees in the form of Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac or Cash.
